What Have Your Thoughts and the Mall Got in Common?
You don’t go into every shop at the mall, same way that you don’t need to react to every thought you have.
Imagine going to the mall and going into every single shop that is there.
It’s exhausting, incredibly time-consuming and takes time away from where you actually wanted to go and what you wanted to do.
Your thoughts are exactly the same.
You have about 40-60,000 thoughts a day, around 70-80% of those are negative and around 90% repetitive! Wow, just wow.
Here is the thing with thoughts.
- They come and go.
- They are not facts.
You do not need to go into every shop in the mall, and you do not need to engage with every thought you have.
Positive or negative, you still don’t need to engage with every one of them.
Favour engaging with your positive thoughts, the negative ones will also creep through, and some do need engagement.
But balance the books.
Choose which shops you go into.

☁️ Thoughts are like clouds, they come and go.
🚦 You get to choose which ones you engage with.
🤔 Thoughts are not facts.
🍁 Leaves on a stream. Visualise a stream, your feet in the cold water and place each thought which comes to you on a leaf and watch it float down the stream.
🙅🏻♂️ Challenge your thoughts, seek evidence for the thought and provide counter evidence.
Personally, I am not a big fan of malls, but I do think a lot and probably go into way too many shops in my mental mall.
