Your First Time Will Not Be Your Best and It Doesn't Have to Be Your Last.
This a phrase which applies to A LOT of areas of life! 😂
But in the interest of keeping things clean, this phrase is relevant to taking on new challenges.
Here is a bunch of new things I have tried recently and felt I failed miserably, and I am glad I failed as it kept me coming back. Failing forwards.
👨👦 Being a dad: Daily I get things wrong, so I can improve.
🧊 Cold water immersion: Hopped out of 15 degrees in 13s exactly!
📝 Posting on Linkedin: My first post got 11 impressions and zero likes other than my dad.
🏃🏻♂️ Running: I got to the end of the street and pulled a calf (again).
👨💼 Sales pitch: "Sorry Josh, I don't really know what it is you are trying to sell me?"
🇫🇷 French: "You have just tried to order a railway bridge sir".
🖥 Technology: Messed up an online payment and ended up buying 59 tickets to a well-being festival (don't worry, I got the money back).
🧘🏻♂️ Meditation: Within 2 mins I am imagining a lion with ducks head 🦆🦁
My list goes on and on! Some funny (Lion duck) and some not very funny at all!
The goal is to keep turning up, becoming a bit more intentional each time, learning the lessons and earning your stripes.
Failure isn't negative, it is an opportunity to learn and grow. I embrace being a failure, it has always served me very well.
What have you failed at recently?
